It’s time to start ambushing Jungle Warfare!

Allow me to introduce a tactic that lurks in the shadows, rarely seen but deeply dangerous—one that thrives in the dense undergrowth of manipulation. If you’ve read my free ebooks or have been educating yourself on recovering from psychopathy or narcissism, then you’re already familiar with the term “flying monkey.” Flying Monkeys are the pawns sent in to do the bidding of the predator. They are the ones who get their hands dirty in order to further the narcissist or psychopath’s control. It’s a deliberate, insidious, and maniacal act of sabotage.

But there’s a darker jungle tactic we need to address, one that often gets overlooked—the use of God as the flying monkey. This is the most heinous of all, because it poisons the deepest part of a person—their faith and spirituality. Many of my clients have been misled through religious manipulation, where pastors, church members, or even so-called spiritual leaders twist scriptures to ensnare their prey. It’s like a venomous vine, creeping up unnoticed, strangling trust and hope, and replacing it with fear and confusion.

I’ll be exploring these poisonous tactics in upcoming podcasts, diving into how some use God as a weapon to control and manipulate. These predators prey on the vulnerability of faith, camouflaging their attacks behind spiritual words, making it harder for victims to see the danger until they’re already deep in the jungle.

Too many people ignore the red flags because the predators hide behind the guise of faith, making it almost impossible to distinguish the good from the bad. But enough is enough! It’s time to expose these jungle warfare tactics for what they truly are—spiritual abuse at its worst.

SO, WHAT DOES FLYING MONKEY EVEN MEAN ANYWAY?

In the world of toxic relationships and narcissistic abuse, a "flying monkey" is someone who the narcissist manipulates to do their dirty work—whether that’s controlling, discrediting, or attacking their target. The term comes from The Wizard of Oz, where the Wicked Witch sent her flying monkeys to do all her bidding. In much the same way, narcissists use others to maintain control while staying behind the scenes. And when I say “behind the scenes” the covert is especially skilled at puppet mastering and pitting people against each other.

“Shelli, How is God a Flying Monkey????”

There are Many Ways:  Here is just one of the ways I will discuss in the future an in my book.

Narcissists, particularly communal narcissists, often use God as a “flying monkey” to manipulate others, especially those with strong faith. When targeting a religious woman, or man, they may exploit their victims’ spirituality to love-bomb into a toxic relationship, weaving divine themes into their manipulation. This creates the illusion that the relationship is divinely ordained, clouding one’s ability to see their true intentions. By making their tactics appear spiritually significant, the narcissist's actions seem not only charming but also sacred, making it much harder to recognize the manipulation.

Communal narcissists take this a step further by exploiting God, scripture, or religious principles to manipulate anyone in order to maintain or gain power. I’ll explore this in greater detail in my upcoming book—stay tuned!
